Huatai Intelligent Equipment Group has been granted a national patent for its "High-Efficiency Energy-Saving Complete Equipment for Diacylglycerol (DAG) Oil Production" (Patent No.: Z202521445099.6), marking a significant breakthrough in functional oil processing technology.
The Technical Challenge
DAG oil production traditionally employs enzymatic catalysis of vegetable oil triglycerides, followed by molecular distillation purification. However, two major challenges have limited the process:
First, immobilized enzyme preparations are expensive, and conventional mechanical stirring creates excessive shear force that causes enzymes to detach from carriers or damage carrier structures—substantially reducing enzyme utilization and increasing production costs.
Second, the production process suffers from insufficient energy recovery and reuse, leading to high overall energy consumption.
Huatai's Innovative Solution
Huatai's R&D team has systematically redesigned both the equipment structure and process flow. The complete equipment set includes vegetable oil storage tanks, reactors, immobilized enzyme tanks, filter presses, heavy phase tanks, crude DAG oil tanks, pre-refining tanks, molecular distillation units, post-refining tanks, and finished product tanks.
The reactor and molecular distillation unit serve as core devices. The reactor features a novel stirring structure that efficiently mixes materials with immobilized enzymes while preventing shear damage—effectively extending enzyme service life and reducing production costs. The complete equipment also enables secondary energy utilization across process units, significantly reducing overall energy consumption.
What is DAG Oil?
Diacylglycerol (DAG) is a natural trace component in edible oils. DAG-enriched oil (with DAG content ≥40%) differs metabolically from conventional oils. While traditional cooking oils (primarily triacylglycerol) are broken down and re-synthesized into body fat, DAG is metabolized differently—it cannot be re-synthesized into fat and is instead converted to energy through mitochondrial oxidation.
DAG oil is approved as a new food ingredient by China's National Health Commission (2009 No. 18 Announcement), the U.S. FDA (GRAS), and the European Food Safety Authority.
